Don't ask why the artist is finishing the doll's eyes last. She's got quite a bit of confidence to be able to get away with that!
I did actually start out with the doll bald and naked...but I watched as her little hairdo, dress, and shoes began to take form. And...well...I never argue with where a drawing takes me. :)
I'm done early this week for IF. I suppose I'll try and catch up on old assignments I never completed! Or...possibly not. He. he.

Lovely drawing Katie, I know what you mean about the assignments - think about it all alot, then go off and do something elase entirely! Have a good weekend!
Being a doll lover from way back, this illustration appeals to me. It is very charming.
Keep up the great drawing! You make me a proud sister. This reminds me of Nonna drawing intricate faces on ceramic figures. Remember that?
Thank you guys. I love dolls, I must say :0)
And Eva, I do remember those ceramic dolls. I recently visited the old ceramic shop when I was at Nonna's and it brought me right back. Sad though, seeing all those unpainted faces just sitting in the dark.
Hey Katie! I just came across this site and thought of you. I have a friend who's using it to sell her handmade jewelry. It's www.etsy.com. It could be a good fit for some of your projects. :)
well said! like your drawing!
nice concept- i like your thinking on this one- x kas
Oh, Katie! This is a beautiful drawing. I like the parchment and graphite lines. It makes it feel old-worldly, the perfect homage to an age-old craft. :)
